The Tummy Team specializes in individualized core rehabilitation that systematically rebuilds the internal corset muscles of the body to relieve low back pain, improve posture, stabilize the spine and pelvis, heal diastasis recti and improve intestinal function. Our program focuses on teaching our clients how the body was designed to function and then helping them correct muscle imbalances and compensatory strategies to function optimally in their daily life and activity.
The Tummy Team specifically treats the condition Diastasis Recti (the separation of your outermost abdominal muscles). This condition is very common and rarely diagnosed and can present with multiple symptoms. The function of the outermost muscle is to support your back and your organs. When the muscles separate this support system is weakened causing low back pain and the a protruding tummy. When your abdominals separate, the connective tissue becomes thin and allows your organs to push forward, contributing the the bulging tummy and putting you at risk for developing a hernia.
This condition not only results in a protruding tummy, low back pain, and risk of hernia, it also contributes to overall weakness of your "core". A weak "core" can put you at risk of injury and may be related to digestive track issues, menstrual cycle issue, prostate issues and pelvic floor problems including stress incontinence (leaking urine when you sneeze or cough).
You will be amazed at how closing your diastasis and rehabilitating your core will effect your entire body. Closing the diastasis can give you a flat belly, a smaller waist and relieve any back and hip problems you may be having. The Tummy Team directs all the education and instruction to effectively assist you to regain neuro-muscular control of your core abdominal muscles and relearn how to use them correctly in ALL the activity of your life. It will become a state of mind and a way of life that will transform the way you carry yourself and function. You will feel strong, supported and powerful and your body will return to the way it was designed to function.

The Tummy Team Prenatal workshop educates expecting moms on how to prepare their bodies physically for pregnancy, labor, delivery and recovery after the baby arrives. We specifically address how to safely and effectively prepare your abdominals and pelvic floor, how to prevent or heal a diastasis during your pregnancy, how to improve your labor progress and how to effectively push during delivery. It is the missing link in most childbirth education and much more beneficial than prenatal fitness classes.
This workshop will focus primarily on preparing for vaginal birth but we will also cover c-section specific information so it is equally as beneficial for women who have a scheduled c-section to attend. Preparing your abdominals prior to your surgery greatly improves your ability to recover after the baby arrives.
This is an excellent program for all expecting moms and especially important for moms desiring a vaginal birth after a previous c-section, moms who have had difficult previous labors, moms who want to limit tearing and pelvic floor trauma, and moms with significant low back pain in pregnancy.
